Julie was born and raised in the Bronx, NYC. She showed an interest in acting at a young age, and started attending the weekend classes at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts when she was 15 years old. She continued her studies there through the age of 18, and was accepted into their intensive Summer program.
After graduating high school, she attended Fordham University in Lincoln Center, and majored in Theatre, and Liberal Arts. While at Fordham, she studied playwriting, directing, and acting.
Upon graduating, she landed her first role in a film called "King of 42nd Street", directed by John Montgomery. She landed a few Television spots after that, and began focusing on landing work in Film and TV. She continued to work around NYC, landing some more film roles, including "Introducing Sam & Simone" directed by Bev Reese. She continued to perform in various plays around NYC, appearing at The American Theatre of Actors, The Producer's Club, and in numerous Theatre festivals.
Soon after, Julie developed an interest in comedy, and started studying improv at The Manhattan Comedy School, and at Upright Citizen's Brigade. She then founded her own improv/sketch comedy troupe, called "Each Sold Separately", and began performing at various comedy clubs all over NYC.
Julie recently completed two short films, including a comedic zombie movie, filmed in black and white, and a comedic look at Manhattan life called "Art in the City". Julie recently started her own film production company, and is working on filming some original short films later this year.
Most recently, Julie directed the amazing original play called "The Session" by Chris Ferretti for the prestegious Strawberry One Act festival in New York City. She was honored to be able to bring such amazing writing to life, and to work with the talented actors in the cast! "The Session" made it all the way to the finals, and both Julie, and Chris Ferretti, playwright, and star of the show, received critical acclaim, and press for the project!
Julie was also recently cast in the criticially acclaimed comedy show "All About Walken" which follows the life of pop culture icon Christopher Walken. In this show, Julie impersonates Walken, and plays various other characters. She is thrilled to be part of such an original, and hysterical show! (www.allaboutwalken.com)
Julie is currently in pre-production again for "The Session", which will be performed in New Jersey later this year! Julie is also currently working with her sketch comedy troupe, and they are in the middle of producting some original sketches that will be filmed later this year. Stay tuned for details!
Julie recently played the lead in the original play "No Justice, Just Us", written and directed by Chris Ferretti. The play was performed for 4 sold out nights at Roy Arias Studios in NYC. Julie was thrilled to be a part of such an incredible production, and to bring such original and innovative writing to life.
